The Main Tusker Kotte Raja at Homagama Poson Perahara -2024 Elephants in Sri Lanka

Daminda Chinthaka said all arrangements are in place for the ‘Dharma Rashmi Homagama Poson Zone’ which spans 13 kilometres covering Diyagama, Pitipana, Dampe, Meegoda, Godagama, Panagoda and Homagama from June 21 onwards under the digital and print media sponsorship of Lake House. Accordingly, the inauguration of the Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone will be held on June 21, the Poson Poya day at 6.30 pm at NSBM Green University premises under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The ‘Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone’, a concept of Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Bandula Gunawardhana is been held for the second time and will conclude on June 23. The Bhakthi Gee concert to be held daily from 7.00 pm at the Green University premises, will be telecast live on Rupavahini (SLRC), the Independent Television Network (ITN) and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC). On the second day, the event will be opened by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and the third day by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. The Poson Lantern competition in the ‘Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone’, open to one and all, will be held in two stages, for adults, and for school and Dhamma school students. During these three days many other events will also be held including Pandals, Dansals, Lanterns, Relics Expositions etc. He said that many government and private organisations have volunteered to provide many facilities including free transportation services for the devotees who come to visit the Poson zone during that period. He added that a rice and curry dansal will be held where food will be prepared by the Army to provide food to more than 100,000 people for three days with the financial donation of Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana.
