Getting Down to Earth - 9 13 26 (Second Sunday)

I have a bumper sticker that reads, “Don’t Believe Everything You Think.” As Unitarian Universalists, we say “To Question is the Answer.” Buddhism begins with the premise that we perceive the real world, the dharma, with our senses and then reconstitute it in our minds to make sense of what we see, hear, etc. We assume that the images in our minds are the real world, while the real world, the dharma, remains just beyond, clouded by our mental lenses, our beliefs, our hidden motivations. We live in an imaginary world, until we wake up and question our distorted reality. This begins our journey out of ignorance. -Rev. Hamilton
