It covers why funds run out of time, how a manager sells its best company from an old fund into a new one, and the choice every investor then faces: take the cash now, or stay put. It also covers how the manager's carry and fees reset, why the manager sits on both sides of the deal, and the three checks on the price: an auction, a fairness opinion and the investor committee.
