Sarpanch Signs, But Up-Sarpanch Delays? 7-Day Deadline Explained | Telangana Panchayat Rules In Telangana Gram Panchayats, a new deadline has been introduced regarding the joint cheque power of the Sarpanch and Up-Sarpanch. According to the reported Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department directions, after the Sarpanch signs a bill-related cheque, the Up-Sarpanch is required to sign the cheque or approve the expenditure through the Digital Signature Key within 7 working days. What happens if the Up-Sarpanch does not sign within 7 working days? When can the District Collector conduct an inquiry? What is considered a valid reason for delay? Can the Up-Sarpanch's cheque power be cancelled? Who can be given the cheque power if an intentional and unjustified delay is established? In this LawLensTV video, we explain these issues in simple Telugu, along with the role of the Sarpanch, Up-Sarpanch, Panchayat Secretary, MPO, MPDO and District Collector. This video is intended for general legal and civic awareness.
