Sabin Pautza – Din vise dragi, poeme... (From Dear Dreams, Poems...) | Harp Solo by Evelina Andrieș

Once again, I had the pleasure of recording at the historic Rákóczi-Bánffy Castle in Gilău, Romania, this time in a different hall, where, beyond the window behind me, autumn tells its own story. The leafless trees and the warm light filtering into the room create an atmosphere of quiet melancholy, perfectly suited to this beautiful Romanian romance by Sabin Pautza, composed in 1982 and arranged for solo harp by me. Performing in the chilly room, with its strong natural reverberation, was a challenge in itself. Yet the atmosphere of the place had a charm of its own. As with my previous recording, I chose to preserve the live performance exactly as it was captured, without any audio editing. The natural resonance of the room and the small incidental sounds remain part of the experience. I wanted to share not only the music, but also the atmosphere in which it came to life beneath my fingers. Thank you for listening.
