Cast Off at 22 With Only a Ruined School to Her Name — She Found What Her Father Left in an Old Glob

She was two-and-twenty, given nothing but the key to a shuttered schoolhouse and an old globe with faded oceans — what none of them knew was that her own father had hidden something inside it seven years before, meant for her alone. Orphaned by her father's death in the war and raised out of cold duty by an aunt who never once called her family, Eleanor Vane is finally sent away when her small inheritance runs dry — to a derelict village school no one else wanted. As she restores it room by room, an old globe in the corner reveals a hidden seam, and inside it, a secret her father entrusted to a schoolmistress who kept it faithfully for over a decade, waiting for the right moment to be found. This is an original fictional story set against the general backdrop of the First World War era. No real battles, regiments, or historical figures are depicted.
