Exploring Scarborough & Whitby ~ Yorkshire Coastline & Whitby Abbey

A summer weekend spent exploring two of Yorkshire’s most beloved seaside towns — Scarborough and Whitby — with our sausage dog Paco. We begin in Scarborough, with a peaceful early morning stroll along North Bay, looking across to Scarborough Castle as the day slowly comes to life. Paco, our miniature dachshund, joins us for a breezy walk up to the castle itself, exploring the windy headland before we head over to the livelier South Bay. The next day we make the short drive to Whitby, climbing the famous 199 steps to reach the hauntingly beautiful Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey, high above the harbour.
