🌹 Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987): 18 Memorable Actors: Then and Now | 39 Years Later

Star Trek: The Next Generation cast then and now 2026 – where are they now? 18 stars of TNG (1987–1994), 39 years later: Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Gates McFadden, LeVar Burton and Michael Dorn. Do you remember the first time you heard Captain Picard say "Engage"? In 1987 a new crew took the Enterprise-D out into the stars, and for seven seasons Picard, Data, Riker, Worf, Troi, Geordi and Dr Crusher were the family we joined on the bridge every week. Sir Patrick Stewart's Captain Jean-Luc Picard, a role he came back to 33 years later in Star Trek: Picard. Jonathan Frakes's Commander Riker, who went on to direct Star Trek: First Contact. Brent Spiner's Data, the android who only wanted to be human. Marina Sirtis's Counselor Troi, and Gates McFadden's Dr Crusher, who also choreographed Jim Henson's Labyrinth. LeVar Burton's Geordi La Forge, already famous from Roots and Reading Rainbow. Michael Dorn's Worf, who has appeared in more Star Trek episodes than any other actor. And Wil Wheaton's Wesley, just a year after Stand by Me. Denise Crosby's Tasha Yar, granddaughter of Bing Crosby. Whoopi Goldberg's Guinan, an Oscar winner for Ghost. John de Lancie's mischievous Q. Colm Meaney's Miles O'Brien, who carried on into Deep Space Nine. Diana Muldaur's Dr Pulaski, later L.A. Law's Rosalind Shays. Michelle Forbes's Ro Laren, and Dwight Schultz's Reginald Barclay, forever The A-Team's Murdock. And the guest stars who left their mark: Majel Barrett's Lwaxana Troi, wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry; Leonard Nimoy, bringing Spock aboard for "Unification"; and David Warner's Gul Madred, opposite Stewart in the unforgettable "There are four lights!" Fourteen of these eighteen are still with us. Four we have lost, among them Sir Patrick Stewart, who died in October 2026 at 86. This is all of them, as they were on the Enterprise and as they are now. A note on images: every still and every present-day photograph in this video is a genuine image of the person shown.
