Kata Beach After DARK — What's It Really Like at Night?

A couple of months ago, I visited Kata during the daytime to see whether the area was busy or quiet, and I was genuinely surprised by how much activity there was. This time, I wanted to see what Kata is like after sunset. So tonight we're taking a ride around Kata Beach and the surrounding streets, looking at the nightlife, restaurants, bars, evening market and the main areas where people gather after dark. We start around Kata Beach before heading through Taina Road and onto Kata Road, taking a look at some of the smaller soi's and nightlife areas along the way. We then continue towards the southern end of Kata, where the evening market and surrounding restaurants were still busy. But there's an interesting contrast as we move away from the main tourist areas. Once you leave the busiest parts of Kata, the atmosphere changes quite quickly and some of the streets become noticeably quieter. There are also road resurfacing works taking place around parts of Kata at the moment, so getting around the area isn't quite as straightforward as usual. If you're considering staying in Kata, or you're simply curious about what Kata Beach is like after dark, hopefully this gives you a better idea of what the area actually looks and feels like at night. As always, this is simply what we found on the night we visited.
