On Sunday, November 1, 2026, Learjet 60 N722BD fell from 35,000 feet in about a minute over Palm Beach County, Florida, on its way from Austin to North Eleuthera, Bahamas. All nine people on board were killed. This is the whole flight, rebuilt from its ADS-B tracking data, NOAA weather radar and the crew's real radio calls.
The cause has not been determined. The NTSB is investigating; at its November 2 briefing it said there is some evidence the jet began breaking up before impact. The aircraft's attitude in our animation is estimated from tracking data. Cockpit displays are reconstructed from flight-tracking and weather data (airspeed and Mach are estimates). The crash-site location shown is approximate. The storm cutaway illustrates a typical thunderstorm cell. Our thoughts are with the families.
No one on the ground was reported hurt; about 600 residents nearby were displaced.
