SciFi fan watches The Expanse Season 1 Episode 1 Reaction | First Time

This is my first time ever watching The Expanse, and this is my reaction to Season 1, Episode 1, “Dulcinea.” I’m going in completely blind. I haven’t read the books, and I know almost nothing about the story except that a lot of people have told me it’s one of the best sci-fi shows out there. The episode introduces Detective Miller on Ceres, Jim Holden aboard the ice hauler Canterbury, and UN official Chrisjen Avasarala back on Earth, along with a solar system that’s already on edge between Earth, Mars, and the Belt. You’ll see me try to keep track of who’s who, react to the big moments as they happen, and share my thoughts on where I think it’s going. If you’re an Expanse fan, I’d love to hear what you thought of the pilot the first time you saw it. Please keep spoilers out of the comments, including hints, so I can experience this show the way it’s meant to be seen.
