Express Evans Hydraulic Elevator | 87-89 St. Mary Street, Weymouth, UK

A rather run down looking 1990s elevator inside a random two storey building which currently houses a bookstore and a toy store. Though the capacity label doesn't state the brand, this elevator is identified as Express Evans, a company formed in 1996 as the result of merger between two famous British elevator companies; Express Lift of Northampton (1917) and Evans Lifts of Leicester (1919). It was obviously a company part of OTIS in the UK, but now they no longer exists. This elevator is a hydraulic and is believed to be a Hydroglide model based on my research through the old website of Express Evans. One will probably notice that the button arrangement on the COP resembles a bit of the one found in the OTIS 2000 series elevators from the same decade, a clear sign that OTIS was involved in developing this type of elevator. Still a rather interesting elevator despite its low cost looking appearance, and this was my first time riding an Express Evans. Fun fact: This exact design of elevator was also sold in various European countries by different companies under their own models, such as in Germany (by Bruno Haack), France (by CFA), and Spain (by Eguren Kone, sold as Hydropack).
