How to Make Cheese Sablés | A Classic French Savory Cookie

In today's video, I'm showing you how to make Cheese Sablés, a savory twist on a classic French recipe! Since this video is being released just before Bastille Day (July 14), I thought it would be fun to give a subtle nod to France by making a favorite French-inspired baked treats. While sablés are traditionally known as buttery, crumbly cookies or biscuits that are often sweet, they can also be made savory by incorporating cheese, herbs, and spices into the dough. For my version, I used freshly grated Gruyère cheese, which gives these sablés a rich, nutty flavor and a wonderfully crumbly texture. If you don't have Gruyère, other flavorful cheeses such as Comté, aged white cheddar, Parmesan, or even Jarlsberg would also work well. One of the things I enjoy most about this recipe is its versatility. These Cheese Sablés are delicious on their own as a savory snack, served alongside a bowl of soup, paired with a fresh salad, or arranged on a charcuterie or cheese board when entertaining guests.
