I Ran Out of Canal… Now What?

This week, narrowboat life on the Llangollen Canal gets VERY tight as we take the Jolly Roger through the final narrow sections and into Llangollen Basin — as far as you can take a narrowboat on this canal! 🏴‍☠️ With Gabs acting as canal traffic control ahead, we somehow squeeze our way through 😬 But once we're safely moored, we swap diesel for steam and leave the narrowboat behind for a completely different way of exploring the beautiful Dee Valley. We're jumping aboard the heritage Llangollen Railway and travelling by steam train from Llangollen to Corwen — discovering the incredible story of a railway that was closed, had its tracks ripped up, and was eventually rebuilt bit by bit by volunteers. There are steam trains, questionable smells courtesy of Bonny 💨😂, a bit of Welsh history, a trip to the Fringe Festival, live bands, beer and some highly questionable dancing. And after being spoiled with sunshine for what feels like months… what the bloody hell has happened to the weather?! 🌧️ I'm also finally getting my hair sorted and Gabs is about to head home — which means I'll have to tackle those bloody narrows again next time… ON MY OWN.
