There are many places around our house in this Bengal, most of which are lying like garbage due to neglect, but in the 19th century, the splendor of these places would have outdone even Kolkata... Those places still exist in their own glory thanks to the folk culture of Bengal and the marginalized people. Let's not go too far, let's visit those places. Today, my destination is four such places. You can visit them day by day and come back, and if you want, you can visit them in one day at a very low cost. Gangatikuri Zamindarbari: The traditional zamindari system was introduced in this house by Indranath Banerjee. He was born in Pandu village of East Burdwan. Indranath's father Bama Charan used to practice law in Purnia, Bihar. Naturally, Indranath Babu also became a B.L. After passing the Calcutta High Court, he practiced law in the courts of Purnia, Dinajpur, Burdwan, etc. Districts. Another identity of Indranath Babu is that he was the first satirical novelist of Bengal. His first satirical work was Utkrashta Kavyam. Later, Indranath Bandyopadhyay bought a mohalla in the village of Gangatikuri in 1881 and started his zamindari. Durga Puja in this house was celebrated with great pomp. Indranath Bandyopadhyay brought chandeliers worth lakhs of rupees from Agra to make the splendor of Durga Puja brighter. The price of these chandeliers made of Belgian glass at that time was 10 lakh 73 thousand rupees. Sonarundi Rajbari: In ancient Bengal, Dandi was the title of merchants. Gold merchants named this village Swarna Dandi. Over time, it was transformed into Sonarundi. Another name for this area is Banwaribad. The royal deity of the kings here was Banwaridev. The founder of the Banwaribad dynasty was Nityananda Dalal. They were weavers by caste. The idols of Radha Krishna and Ashta Sakhi were established here. Following the example of Vrindavan, Nityananda Babu named it Kishore Banwari Lalji. There are buildings all around and a Nat temple in the middle. But the whole place has almost become a dilapidated state. Since it is part of the main palace, there were more than a hundred rooms here. At that time, twelve pavilions were built outside the palace. On the main days of the ceremony, Kishore Banwari Lalji was taken there. Attahas Satipeeth: Ketugram Thana of Purba Burdwan district. The name of the village is Dakshin Dihi. This is an ancient Tantra field. It is not a vast and vast forest but it is very shady. It is dark even during the day. This temple is surrounded by forest, away from the hustle and bustle of the people, on the banks of the Uttar Bahini Ishani River. Here, foxes, dogs, and bejees used to roam fearlessly. Ancient banyan trees stand in the temple premises with numerous baskets. The lower part of Sati's lip fell here. Bahula Sati Peeth: Bahula is one of the 51 Peeths of Sati. This Sati Peeth is located on the banks of the Ajay River in Ketugram of Burdwan district. Except for the face of the goddess, her entire body is covered with beautiful clothes. In this temple, the goddess's idol has four hands. Next to the goddess is an octagonal Ganesha idol. Goddess Bahula lives here with her husband and son. The goddess is worshipped daily here. The mother is offered food daily. There is a pond next to the temple. Many believe that bathing in this pond can cure many diseases. == https://www.instagram.com/ghurtefirte...
