CCTV footage purportedly shows the women first snatching a mobile phone inside the shop and then attacking Deepak with rods and sticks. According to the victim’s family, Deepak suffered serious injuries in the alleged attack, including a fracture to his hand. A woman identified as Jyoti also reportedly sustained a head injury and required stitches. Deepak’s brother Tilak has also claimed that he suffered serious injuries during the incident. Tilak alleged that a similar incident was attempted on September 7 as well. He said that a copy of the complaint regarding the earlier incident was submitted at Kanjhawala Police Station, but no effective action was allegedly taken. According to the complaint submitted by the victim, Deepak was sitting inside his jewellery shop and talking on the phone when four women allegedly entered the shop and began misbehaving with and assaulting him. The complaint names Sundari, Ekta, Pooja and Sunita and alleges that the four women entered the shop and not only attempted to seriously assault Deepak but also damaged property inside the shop. The complainant has alleged that the women broke the shop’s glass, snatched a mobile phone and allegedly attempted to take away a gold chain. The CCTV footage is being cited by the victim’s family as key evidence in the case. The family has urged the police to examine the complete footage and verify the allegations before taking appropriate legal action. The victim’s family has also raised serious questions over the alleged handling of the matter by Kanjhawala Police. They allege that the investigating officer (IO) advised them not to pursue the matter, reportedly saying that the women could file a cross-FIR against them if action was taken. However, the exact circumstances and allegations will need to be established through a fair investigation. The police are being requested to examine the CCTV footage, previous complaint, medical reports and other available evidence to establish what actually happened. The victim has also approached the Rohini District DCP office seeking justice and assistance. The family has demanded an impartial investigation and action against anyone found responsible under the law. The case has raised questions over the alleged delay in action on the September 7 complaint and the subsequent incident. The CCTV footage and other evidence are now expected to play a crucial role in determining the facts of the matter.
