On the 25th anniversary of September 11th and the 13th annual Red Bandana Game, the Eagles held on to defeat the Scarlet Knights, 28-21. Boston College's Anthony Palano made a key fourth down stop and had two interceptions, including one that locked up the victory with under two minutes to go. The BC defense had three interceptions, a forced fumble, three sacks, five tackles for loss, and three fourth down stops. Eagles quarterback Mason McKenzie completed 18 of 29 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball 13 times for 94 yards and a touchdown. Running back Evan Dickens had 56 yards rushing, 24 receiving yards, and a rushing touchdown. For Rutgers, wide receiver KJ Duff caught eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
