99 Points: The Game on Video (1985 4K Upscaled VHD Promotional Vintage Yokohama Japan Footage)

READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE WATCHING! This is 99 Points (VHC58027), a special promotional game produced for the Japanese VHD format. Stored on this disc are 99 clips of Yokohama (recorded as 99 chapters on the original disc). With the physical disc, a large, fold-out map of Yokohama is included with 99 numbered markings representing each location in each clip. The viewer (you!) needs to match each location to each clip. In addition, during a number of these clips, a mysterious moving, blinking, or otherwise notable character may appear. According to the instructions, once all the mysterious characters are found, they will tell you something important about the meaning of the numbered markings on the map that will lead to a special answer to the game... Are you up for the challenge? If so, I've scanned the map in high resolution on the Internet Archive here: https://archive.org/details/99-points... For the rest of us, this disc provides some historically interesting footage of life in Yokohama, Japan and some funky instrumental tunes to groove to! Enjoy this interesting early attempt at an interactive game with live video! Fun fact: If you had found the answer before Aug. 21st, 1985 and sent in a postcard to Victor Corporation, you could have won a free VHD worth up to 10,000 yen! ________________________________________________ This was played back using a Victor HD-9500 VHD player. NOTE: Cross-hatching artifacts may be noted along high contrast edges. This is an artifact of the TBC used to stabilize the footage and is not inherent to the original recording or post-processing after capture. NOTE 2: VHD discs have a number of quality issues, including sensitivity to scratches/long-term pressure/heat, an affinity to attract mold, etc, which can cause visual artifacts such as skipping & drop-outs along with audio artifacts. An attempt to minimize these artifacts was made during capture; however, please excuse the artifacts that still remain. ________________________________________________ If you want to follow me for updates or want to help me afford to purchase the 100th point, please click the following link: https://linktr.ee/OpWorkshop
