Getting admission into a top government college is a great achievement. But students also need to understand their rights, stay alert from Day 1 and speak up if something goes wrong. If you ever face or witness ragging, harassment or any form of serious misconduct, don't suffer silently. Talk to your parents, teachers and the appropriate college authorities, and use the legal and institutional mechanisms available to you. Parents, please don't dismiss your child's complaint by saying "এগুলো একটু-আধটু হয়, মানিয়ে নাও." If your son or daughter is coming to you with a serious complaint, take it seriously. And remember: a college can provide opportunities, but no college alone builds your career. Your skills, hard work, confidence and mental well-being matter far more. If a situation becomes genuinely unsafe or unbearable, changing the college can be a better decision than sacrificing your health, peace or future simply because the institution has a big name.
