Hello, all you ruin lovers and nostalgia seekers out there! The top hot spring tourist destination in Japan from the 1960s to the 1980s was Atami, Shizuoka. It was popular as a honeymoon destination and a vacation home for celebrities, but gradually fell into disuse. Now, however, Atami is trying to revive itself again. It is easy to reach from Tokyo, too, taking only two hours by train. When Japanese people feel stress in their daily lives, they first think of going to a hot spring onsen resort (at least I believe many Japanese do). And since I am one of them, here is a vlog of my two days and one night in Atami. The whole video is one complete piece, but if you're short on time, use the chapter feature! Finally, Japan is now open to tourists.
