👣 Here’s the video to accompany my latest Wensleydale walk, now available on my website! This circular route starts in the charming village of Wensley, where there is easy parking near Wensley Bridge on the A684. From there, the walk takes you through Wensley Park in the Bolton Estate, passes through the lovely villages of Preston-under-Scar and Redmire, and leads you past several fascinating landmarks. ⛪️ Along the way, you’ll visit the atmospheric Keldheads Lane lead smelt mill near Tullis Cote, admire the impressive Norman architecture of St Mary’s Church in Redmire, and take in the beautiful cascading waterfalls of Redmire Force. 🏞️ Wensleydale is one of the most scenic valleys in the Yorkshire Dales. Unlike many other Yorkshire dales, which are named after their rivers, such as Swaledale for the River Swale and Wharfedale for the River Wharfe, Wensleydale is different. It takes its name from the village of Wensley. The River Ure flows through the valley, and its historic name, Yoredale, reflects the river’s strong and lively character. 📸 On my website, you’ll find everything you need to plan your visit. I’ve included clear directions, parking details, maps to guide your route, and a collection of my photographs to give you a taste of what’s in store. I’ll also share a map in the comments section. https://www.paulbeal.com/wensleydale-...
