WXXA Commercial Breaks (November 18, 1984)

Taken from WXXA's "Night Owl Movies," the brand name the station used for movies it would show during late night hours. WXXA-TV (channel 23) was at the time Albany, NY's only independent station, but is now affiliated with the Fox network. The movie airing that night was "Grand Hotel." The one thing I love about these old WXXA breaks is the local commercials. Not only are some no longer in business, but you have to love how cheaply-made they are! Since WXXA was only 2 years old at the time, it made sense because bigger companies may not have had much awareness about the station yet. 0:00 - Intro 0:14 - WXXA's Night Owl Movies Bumper 1 0:19 - Arrow Pontiac 0:49 - Metropolitan Glass 1:19 - M*A*S*H on WXXA Promo (John Young VO) 1:39 - WXXA's Night Owl Movies Bumper 2 1:50 - American Lung Association 2:00 - Brown’s Waterbeds (ad 1) 2:30 - Clash of the Titans on WXXA Promo (Bob Perry and John Young VOs) 3:01 - Albany Dodge 3:31 - WXXA's Night Owl Movies Return Bumper 3:41 - Wacky Jacky’s 4:10 - WXXA “Movies Make the Magic” Promo (John Young VO) 4:40 - Brown’s Waterbeds (ad 2) 5:11 - The Samaritans 5:31 - Albany Dodge Truck Center 6:00 - Wholesale Outlet 6:31 - Kim Novak Week on WXXA Promo 6:41 - 3rd Street Theatre and Spectrum Theatre 7:12 - Wilkinson Sword (Ernie Anderson VO) 7:42 - NYS Public Service Commission 7:52 - Academy Subaru 8:22 - Ayds 8:52 - Doan’s Pills 9:22 - Cuticura 9:52 - Bantron 10:22 - Surplus Freight Furniture Warehouse 10:52 - Outro (C) 1984 Albany TV-23, Inc.; WXXA is now owned by Mission Broadcasting.
