His music career started since 2007, and was involved in the recording and live sound engineering for one of the prominent Jazz artist in Indonesia. Gulf of Meru is his expression towards his epoch. He believes that technology can shape audio to various characteristics. His music is aimed to bring listeners to a dark and deep experiences and his music is made not particularly for dancing but to bring people into oblivion. For him, music softwares is his religion. He truly believes with music software, he can make his music become more dynamic, detailed, and complex with no workflow. Influenced by Boards of Canada, Aphex Twins, Radiohead, Brian Eno, and Nicolas Jaar, Gulf of Meru wants to bring people to a sonorous trip through long-tracks and digging the smallest detail of the sound, with a mixed of ambient, post rock, electronic, and experimental influences that comes as one entity. He said that his album 'can not be defined in one genre'. As a starter for those trips, Gulf of Meru introduces 'Entre' as an introduction track for his album that will be released later this year.
