When we speak of the life of a wartime photojournalist, the saying “blood, sweat and tears” is very applicable for these photographers when they enter a war zone. In 1954, famed Magnum agency founder, Robert Capa, died when he stepped on a landmine in Indochina while on assignment for Life magazine. Tim Heatherington, died while shooting the Libyan Civil War in 2011. Even when photojournalists return home unscathed, ost suffer some sort of PTSD due to their experiences. But they perform their highly dangerous work in order to inform the public about the costs of war and to shape news coverage about global events.I have put together a short group of photojournalists and their works for you to view and hope that you delve deeper into their work to see the fine art that their images protray.
