Persian Wedding Knife Dance

This summer, we filmed a Persian wedding. It was a great experience to see how different the traditions are from American weddings. Saman and Elnaz were a great couple to work with and this is a fun clip from the Knife Dance before the cake cutting. Persian Wedding Knife Dance - It is a custom for Persian weddings to have a knife dance before the cake cutting. Guests take turns stealing the knife and teasing the groom to collect ransom money. When enough money is collected, the knife dance is over and the bride and groom are free to cut the cake.
