Why don't we eat swordfish? It's one of the most prized fish in the ocean, yet doctors warn pregnant women and kids to avoid it, and in 1971 the US FDA told the whole country to stop eating it. The real reason is mercury, an invisible poison that climbs the food chain through biomagnification and ends up inside YOU.

✅ Which fish are safe: salmon, sardines, anchovies, shrimp
Key research & experts:
• Philippe Grandjean: Faroe Islands study of ~1,000 children (1997)
• Bruce McDuffie: found high mercury in canned tuna (1970)
• Kerstin Fritsches & Eric Warrant: swordfish "warm eyes" study (2005)
• FDA: swordfish averages ~1 ppm of mercury vs ~0.02 ppm in salmon
