Sewage is a problem. No more so than in London where the sewage system built by the Victorians was at breaking point - even light rainfall results in sewage being discharged untreated into the Thames. The solution has been a new engineering wonder: Tideway - London's Super Sewer. Now nearing completion, this system should keep The Thames and London clean for at least another century.
