Today's Catholic Mass Readings & Gospel Reflection
Reading 1: Ephesians 2:12–22
Resp: Psalm 85:9ab–10, 11–12, 13–14
Gospel: Luke 12:35–38
Liturgical Day: Tuesday of the Twenty-Ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Lectionary Number: 474
Today, October 20, 2026, the Gospel of Luke 12:35–38 calls us to remain watchful and ready for the coming of the Lord. Jesus reminds us that faithful waiting is not about fear but about living each day with prayer, love, forgiveness, and service. The First Reading reminds us that through Christ we have been brought near to God and made members of His household, while the Responsorial Psalm points us toward mercy, truth, justice, and peace. May we keep our lamps burning and our hearts ready to welcome Christ.
