Molimisi Baaitsi, known to South Africans as Dr Nel, was a fast-rising Lekompo artist from Botshabelo (Roborooi 2), Lephalale in Limpopo. He became one of the most loved young musicians in the province, known for his unique sound, street energy and catchy hit songs. Dr Nel was 31 years old at the time of his passing. He grew up in a rural village but managed to use his talent to build a name for himself in the Limpopo music industry. His music mixed local Limpopo rhythms with modern house elements, making him popular at gigs, taverns, events and social media platforms.
