🎬 SAILING DON'T PANIC — S1 E2
Storms of Turkey | 3 Storms. 3 Words.
We'd already discovered that life on the hook wasn't always quite as calm and relaxing as it looked.
But we had no idea what was coming.
In this second episode of Sailing Don't Panic, we look back at three storms we experienced during our time sailing the Turkish coast — from Göcek in the Mediterranean, through Bozburun and into the Aegean, and eventually to Taşalan Koyu (Death Bay) as we named it near Knidos.
Three storms.
Three very different experiences.
And each one a little more serious than the last.
Join Tony, Zoe, Malcolm & Lulu as we revisit the storms that tested Don't Panic — from the first windy afternoon in Göcek, to increasingly rough conditions around Bozburun, and finally to the night we came to know as "Death Bay".
There are strong winds, big seas, dragging anchors, broken lines, plenty of chaos and a few moments where we seriously questioned whether we'd picked the right lifestyle!
And while we managed to capture plenty of it on camera, there are parts of the Death Bay story that simply weren't filmed — because when the wind reached 62.5 knots and things started breaking, keeping Don't Panic and ourselves safe became rather more important than picking up a camera.
Looking back now, each storm taught us something.
But the last one taught us a lot.
