Gerben Wasser & Nikita Mochalin – 'For Paul' (Tenor Sax Battle & Live Modal Jazz)

An intense, spiritual tenor saxophone dialogue on 'For Paul', recorded live at the Kozlov Jazz Club in Moscow! 🎷🔥 We might not have spoken the same spoken language offstage, but on stage, language barriers vanished completely. In the expansive, modal realm of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders, Nikita Mochalin and I engaged in a deep musical conversation—stretching motivic ideas, cross-rhythms, and trading solos to their absolute limit. This wasn't just two tenor players going back and forth; it was a collective energy shared with an incredibly responsive rhythm section, the full band, and an amazing audience. 🎵 Track: For Paul 📍 Venue: Kozlov Jazz Club, Moscow (Summer 2026) LINE-UP & CREDITS: 🎷 Gerben Wasser — Tenor Saxophone 🎷 Nikita Mochalin — Tenor Saxophone 🎺 Art Baden Big Band 🔔 Subscribe to the channel for monthly live jazz drops, solos, and behind-the-scenes content! 📲 Connect with Gerben Wasser: • Instagram:   / gerbenwassermusic   • All Links & Bookings: https://linktr.ee/gerbenwassermusic?u... • Business Contact: info@gerbenwasser.nl #coltrane #pharoahsanders #tenorsax #jazzbattle #modaljazz #kozlovjazzclub #livejazz #dutchjazz #jazzhasnoborders #gerbenwasser
