Martin insists there is “no evidence,” refuses to recognize the court proceedings, and then takes things even further by demanding that the judge have the arresting officer charged — and even calls for the previous judge to be arrested over the denial of a personal bond. At one point, he tells the judge, “I’ll take your job,” before moving to have the judge disqualified. The judge remains composed, rejects his motions, maintains the existing bond conditions, and schedules the case for a jury trial. Then comes another defendant who brings similar arguments into a sentencing hearing. He attempts to “repent,” dismisses his appointed attorney, and repeatedly refuses to answer the judge’s straightforward questions, relying on “special appearance” and “no injured party” arguments. After several warnings, the judge finds him in contempt, revokes his bond, and orders him back to jail.
