Is BBA really just a vacation degree?
A state minister's recent comments sparked a firestorm online — and as a student at IBA, University of Dhaka, I felt I had to respond. Not with outrage. With honesty.
In this video, I share why — if given the choice again — I would choose BBA every single time. I'd even pick BBA at a private university like NSU over EEE at a public university. That might sound controversial. By the end of this video, you'll understand exactly why.
I talk about my own journey: finishing A Levels with results that could've taken me to universities abroad, choosing to stay in Bangladesh, and realizing that in this country, no degree — not engineering, not medicine, not BBA — guarantees you a career by itself. What matters is what you build on top of your degree. And BBA gives you the one thing most degrees don't: time.
I used that time to complete 30+ courses on Coursera and DataCamp, win two national finance competitions, and pass CFA Level 1 — one of the hardest professional finance exams in the world.
This video isn't a defense of a broken system. It's a guide to navigating one.
