September has arrived, but this balcony container garden is still producing an incredible amount of food.
This week's harvest is loaded with homegrown tomatoes at different stages of ripeness, beautiful red peppers, long peppers, cucumbers and a gorgeous sweet pepper that's changing from green into yellow and orange.
In Week 18, we're taking a look at the latest harvest and talking about late-season ripening, when I decide to pick tomatoes before they're completely red, what happens when peppers begin changing to their mature colour, and how my priorities in the garden are starting to change as we move farther into September.
The Sky Garden has come a long way since the beginning of the season. What started as a collection of young plants growing in containers has become a productive balcony vegetable garden supplying harvest after harvest.
There's still plenty of fruit on the plants, so the season isn't finished yet!
