Spend The Day With Me At Work | CERTIFIED SURGICAL FIRST ASSISTANT

In this week’s video, I bring you with me to work. On Mondays and Tuesdays, there’s usually no surgeries scheduled so I am down at the office. I work for the OBGYN department and only assist in surgeries that are under that specialty. I get to do c-sections, laparoscopic and robotic cases. I honestly get the best of both worlds! One thing I dislike about this assignment is the expectation of me helping in the office . By helping, I mean rooming patients and cleaning the rooms. The office has medical assistants and in a way, I am expected to also be in that role. This is not what I signed up for and I’ve never had an assignment like this before. I only know how to assist in surgery and I have no interest in being an MA. I am here to help in surgery and also help cover call. I have been vocal about this but I do not think this is going to change. However, I do like the specialty, my schedule and the amount of money I am making. So, let me know your thoughts about this! I do not think they have ever had a traveler like me before and I have never been contracted to also help in the office. I am used to being in the OR and in that environment.
