Bobby Darin Live Desert Inn February 21st 1972 (Closing Show)

Today we bring you another unreleased Bobby Darin concert. This time an audience recording from closing night at the Desert Inn, February 21st, 1972, a little over a year since his life-saving heart operation. There are very few of these kinds of recordings in circulation, but they give us a real insight into the nature of the performances Bobby was giving at this time. As with other shows from the period, there is lots of talking after the first run of songs, and it remains unclear whether this was a way of Bobby managing his health issues on stage or the way he wished to perform. Unfortunately the dialogue is hard to hear in parts this recording. The recording starts with Help Me Make It Through the Night, but it is possible that this was not the first song of the night, for this was usually Bobby's second song, with something more upbeat as the first song.
