DRAWING ON TEXTURED PAPER - Drawing a duck with Polychromos color pencils on Canson Mi-teintes

For this duck drawing I wanted to challenge myself to achieve both smooth texture and fine detail on Canson Mi-teintes pastel paper. Usually I use the paper texture to help emphasis fur texture, but this time I wanted to see if I could eliminate the paper texture while still being able to layer well and achieve lots of fine detail. I upload a new art video every week, and work primarily in coloured pencil and traditional gouache paint. My focus is wildlife as I have a passion for conservation and biology, but I also do pet portraits and "how to" videos as well.
