News arrived at the family estate that my husband, father and brothers had been brutally killed by the rival syndicate. The 18 women of the house locked the gates and took our own lives rather than be sold to overseas brothels, never imagining that our deaths were nothing but a loyalty test staged to amuse Kian's visiting princess that afternoon. The Grand Hall had been dressed in white silk for our family Celebration. The long tables were set with silver and flowers, and the women of the house were laughing as they pinned up their hair. My mother was arranging the coffee service, and my sisters in law were teasing each other about their dresses. Then one of our soldiers stumbled through the doors, shot and sobbing and collapsed at my feet. Donna Serafina, the dawn is dead. They burned your father alive and cut both your brothers to pieces. Seconds later, gunfire erupted outside as the rival family's men surrounded the estate and sent word through the gates every man inside would be shot and every Mercer woman sold to underground casinos and brothels in Southeast Asia. My mother did not shed a tear. She had the heavy doors bolted, opened the family vault and laid 18 loaded pistols across the banquet table. Our men died for the Mercer name, she said, her voice steady. No one humiliates a Mercer woman. We die on our feet before we live on our knees. One by one, 17 shots rang out.#revenge #redditstories #redditreadings #revengestory #reddit_tiktok #askredditstories #relationship #revengereturns #reddit #drama
