Fr Ephram Sermon - October 25, 2026

Father Ephram Alhaj reflects on the Gospel of the tormented man and teaches that God does not tempt anyone toward evil. The devil tempts, while God permits trials for our healing, purification, and growth in virtue. When hardship, illness, or difficulty comes, we are called to turn inward rather than accuse God: “From what do You want to purify me?” Remaining faithful, keeping our eyes on God, and trusting His love, we discover that He does not permit us to be tested beyond what we can bear, but provides a way through every trial. يتأمل الأب إفرام الحاج في إنجيل الإنسان المعذّب، ويعلّمنا أن الله لا يجرّب أحداً بالشر. فالشيطان هو الذي يجرّب، أما الله فيسمح بالتجارب من أجل شفائنا وتطهيرنا ونمونا في الفضيلة. فعندما يأتي الضيق أو المرض أو الصعوبة، نحن مدعوون إلى أن ننظر إلى داخلنا بدلاً من أن نلوم الله: «مِمَّ تريد يا رب أن تطهّرني؟» وبالثبات في الأمانة، وتثبيت عيوننا على الله، والثقة بمحبته، نكتشف أنه لا يسمح بأن نُجرَّب فوق ما نحتمل، بل يجعل مع كل تجربة منفذاً للخلاص.
