They are at it again. During the era of Honky-Tonk Piano and early Rock and Roll, both of which were running wild in jukeboxes and on the airwaves, this unique and singular (for the time) follow-up album came along and continued the discussion as to what a real ragtime orchestra was back in "the day." Albert White again assembled some of San Francisco's finest instrumentalists, and using authentic period scores, augmented to feature soloists, created this wonderful pastiche of tunes from the 1850s to the 1920s using an authentic non-Dixieland Jazz ensemble, sparkling with elegance and, for the time, crystal clear sound. At a full 35 minutes it will certainly be a repeatable experience for any lover of old-time American music. 00:00 Waiting for the Robert E.
