DAY TRIP TO LAKE BLED AND LAKE BOHINJ | Exploring Slovenia’s Alpine Lakes

We set off from Ljubljana to explore Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj by car. 🚙 Tucked in the Julian Alps, these lakes are the perfect day trip from Slovenias capital! We start at Lake Bled, about a 45 minute drive from Ljubljana. It’s quiet in winter but the backdrop of snowy mountains is absolutely stunning! 🏔 Only 25 minutes further into the mountains, Lake Bohinj was pristine and remote. 🌲 I imagine it’s a great place to swim in summer but we decided a polar plunge wasn’t in the cards this time of year. 😂We’ll have to come back to swim when the weather is warmer! 🌞 It’s absolutely possible to visit both lakes in one day and we highly recommend it.
