FFXIV - Abyssos: The Eight Circle (Savage) P8S Phase 2 clear - WHM PoV

My original clear of this fight on my AST caught me off guard and I forgot to record it, so here's my alt clear instead. Before anything else, I want to preface this by saying, I dislike so many of the visual design decisions that went into this fight. Why is the Gamma debuff orange/brown? Alpha/A/1 is red, Beta/B/2 is yellow, C/3 is blue, so obviously Gamma is blue, right? NOPE ITS BROWN. Why are two of the possible tower combinations a bright blue and a bright purple? They really could have chosen way more distinct colors than green, blue, and purple, which in aggregate occupies a pretty small wedge on a color wheel. What is this weird ugly green and orange cloud thing during Dominion? The most notable thing about this fight is its crazy high incoming damage. The dots from Natural Alignment tick really hard and the loosely spread nature of High Concept can make group healing a bit of a challenge. The mechanics themselves are pretty easy, but you need to be cognizant of people suddenly dying to damage. Some notable things: In Natural Alignment, ice targets the closest two players, fire targets the farthest three, so spread accordingly. The width of each square is about 10y, that means if you have an outer position during natural alignment, most heals will not reach the other side unless you run toward the middle. Afflatus Rapture does not have this issue. The boss gains a stacking damage up buff during the second half of the fight, so the later aoes are more dangerous than the earlier ones. The merging of concepts in High Concept is not instantaneous, so you need to be careful about running out too early and failing a merge, but you also don't have to worry about running past someone when getting into position. Merging two incompatible concepts results in an instant wipe, so be careful there.
