ISS Program March 2025

Jennifer Levasseur, PhD, a Space History Curator at the National Air and Space Museum, takes us on a virtual tour of International Space Studies. For nearly 25 years, scientists and engineers globally have relied on the International Space Station (ISS) as a hub for microgravity research—primarily through the efforts of astronauts. Since its first crew arrived in November 2000, the ISS has hosted up to a dozen occupants at a time, who diligently maintain the station and conduct hundreds of experiments to explore the effects of microgravity on the human body and various scientific samples. However, the ISS is more than just a research facility; it's a home, and ensuring its safety and functionality requires much more effort than most people might imagine. View to learn more!
