Grendel

Grendel by Leslie Fish (with Kathy Mar) from "Quarks & Quests" (originally from "Snow Magic") (for those who don't know, it is inspired by the epic tales of Beowulf and apparently takes place between the battle with Grendel and the battle with Grendel's Mother.)
