The NORTH COAST of Taiwan starts from Guanyinshan to Keelung. There are 49 tourist spots in the area which can be covered within a two days tour or more just to make sure that you will be able to enjoy and take picture at it's best angle without time pressure. We were able to visit Laomei Green Leaf, Yehliu Geopark, Shimendong Beach, UFO Village, Shifen Waterfalls, Nanya Rock, Shifen Lantern Festival, and Golden Waterfalls , 10 spots in total. Most of the tourists spots mentioned are accessible by public transportation. Get through by bus or taxi is the most easiest option. If you are planning to visit, I suggest you to choose weekdays as most of these tourist destinations are jam packed during the weekend and hollidays, Taipei’s proximity to mountains, waterfalls, and Taiwan’s geographically stunning north coast set it apart from other major Asian cities. The city’s northern district of Beitou is known for its hot springs, and borders on Taiwan's 28,000-acre, jungle-laden Yangming Mountain National Park. Just beyond that, about an hour's drive from downtown Taipei, visitors will find the otherworldly windswept north coast limestone formations at Yehliu and the white-sand beach at Baisha Bay.
