WHOLE HOUSE RESET TIME! 🧺🧼🧽 After a BIG weekend of hosting, family, food, and all the usual Wads chaos, I finally had something I haven't had in a while… TIME. 😂
With all five kids back in school, I had a huge chunk of uninterrupted time to tackle the house, and I took FULL advantage of it!
I started 15 loads of laundry, fully cleaned and organized the refrigerator, reset all of the kids' rooms, tidied and organized large areas of the house, and basically did the kind of deep cleaning and home reset that feels almost impossible when you're in the thick of motherhood.
And It felt SO GOOD.
There is something incredibly refreshing about having the time and mental capacity to actually finish things instead of constantly putting out the next fire.
But this whole house reset ended up becoming a lot more emotional for me than I expected.
I've been thinking a lot about mom guilt, motherhood, survival mode, and the different versions of myself I've been throughout the last 15 years.
The mom I was.
The mom I wanted to be.
The mom I am now.
And the mom I feel guilty that I couldn't always be when I was completely overwhelmed and just trying to survive.
Coming out of survival mode has been wonderful, but it has also made me look back and realize just how much I was carrying during some of those years. And honestly… that hurts.
One of the moments that really got me was something so incredibly ordinary: my daughter's sock drawer.
I was sitting there sorting, folding, and organizing her socks, putting everything back where it belonged, and I had this very strange emotional realization…
This is it.
I've made it.
I was looking at her tidy little drawer and thinking, this is the mom I've always wanted to be.
Not because a clean sock drawer makes me a better mom. It absolutely doesn't.
But because for so many years, having the mental capacity to stay on top of these tiny things felt impossible.
And now I'm in a season where I can actually do it.
I'm not saying I've figured everything out. 😂 I have five kids, so let's be realistic.
But I finally feel like I'm getting into a groove. I'm learning what works for our family, I'm getting better at managing our home, and I'm realizing that motherhood isn't one season.
There was the survival-mode version of me.
There's the version of me right now.
And someday there will be another version of me who probably looks back at this season and realizes she could have done some things differently too.
And that's okay.
So come hang out with me for a whole house reset, cleaning motivation, laundry motivation, fridge cleanout, organizing, kids' room resets, and a little honest mom-life reflection along the way.
Because around here, we're always a work in progress. ❤️
Thanks for watching, hanging out, and being a friend. I hope this gives you a little motivation to tackle whatever you've been putting off in your own house!
