👉 Watch Next: I'm 57, I Have 4 Years, and I'm Moving to Southeast Asia    • I am 57 Years and I only have 4 More Years   CORRECTION & CLARIFICATION: 1. Non-O vs O-A: The embassy-issued O-A visa mandates health insurance (current minimum: 3,000,000 THB coverage) and allows initial funds to be shown in a US bank. 2. Avoiding Mandatory Insurance: To avoid mandatory health insurance, retirees utilize the in-country Non-Immigrant O extension route. 3. Decumulation Math: All portfolio withdrawal engineering, US 0% capital gains thresholds, and cash-flow mechanics shown in the video remain 100% accurate. Thank you for the viewers who pointed this out to me. Thailand's retirement visa just got significantly more complicated for Americans — and most retirement channels haven't caught up yet. There are two main visa paths for retiring in Thailand. The standard Non-Immigrant O-A requires either $23,000 parked in a Thai bank account or roughly $2,000/month flowing in from overseas every month. The premium LTR visa requires $80,000/year in passive income but gives you a 10-year visa and eliminates the 2026 tax problem. That tax problem: as of 2026, Thailand now taxes foreign-sourced income remitted into the country. The money you send monthly for the visa could now be taxed by both the US and Thailand. LTR holders are exempt. O-A holders are not. I open AiRA — the retirement planning platform I built myself — to model both paths and show you the exact engineering. Note: In the Mark Watney demo, the slide has $94050 as the MFJ Income threshold. This is a typo, the threshold is $98,900 ⚠️ Not financial or tax advice. Thai tax rules are new and evolving. Verify everything with a qualified advisor before making decisions. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📌 CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📊 TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - The trap most Americans don't see coming 0:50 - The two visa paths: Non-O-A vs LTR 2:59 - LTR Pensioner Visa 4:16 - The US Embassy affidavit problem 6:02 - Meet Mark Watney — AiRA demo begins 7:13 - Demo 1: Which bucket to pull from 10:53 - Demo 2: Lump sum vs income stream 12:16 - The LTR path — who qualifies 14:06 - Thailand : The reason 14:39 - The solution framework 21:19 - What's next 🔗 AiRA — Free Tool: aira.tiredtoretire.com 📺 Subscribe: @vincentplansfreedom ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🖥️ TOOLS & RESOURCES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Try AiRA — my free retirement modeling software built specifically for multi-country decumulation, geographic arbitrage, and expat income planning: 👉 aira.tiredtoretire.com Thailand now has an official online visa application portal at thaievisa.go.th Full site + blog: 👉 tiredtoretire.com ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📺 ABOUT THIS CHANNEL ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ I'm Vincent — documenting a real-time 4-year exit plan from the US to Thailand by 2030.
