View of Mount Fuji from the Best and Widest Economy Class Window Seat in the World JAL SKY WIDER Japan Airlines Economy Class Boeing B767-300 Tokyo Narita to Singapore May 16 2026 This is our Japan Airlines Economy Class long haul flight direct non-stop from Tokyo Narita to Singapore on Saturday May 16, 2026. We captured stunning video footage of the aerial view of Mount Fuji from our window seat. The aircraft was a wide-body twin-aisle Boeing B767-300 with a 7-abreast seat configuration of 2-3-2 with JAL SKY WIDER seats, consistently recognized worldwide for having the best and widest economy class seats. We were onboard JAL flight JL 711 scheduled to depart Tokyo Narita at 18 : 05 and to arrive Singapore at 00 : 20 am on the following day. We have included some textual commentary throughout this video of our observations and insights on our experience with this particular flight. For the past 10 years at least, JAL has consistently been recognized as having the “Best Economy Class Airline Seat” by Skytrax World Airline Awards. For this Boeing B767-300 we flew in, the economy class seats, also known as JAL SKY WIDER seats, typically have a seat width of 45 cm or 17.7 inches and seat pitch of 84-86 cm or 33.1-33.9 inches. The legroom has additional knee clearance of 10 cm or 4 inches more compared to standard international economy class cabin seats. JAL specifically designed such SKY WIDER seats with slimmer seat backs to increase perceived knee space and personal space. JAL utilizes a specially-slimmed seatback contour. The SKY WIDER slim seat design is what gives the extra knee space. This design moves the seat pockets upward, removing the usual bulk at knee level and drastically maximizing the open space directly in front of the shins.
