How to Control the Mind | Mind Management Through Bhagavad-gītā As It Is | Session 3 Is your mind your best friend—or your greatest enemy? We often know what we should do, yet the mind pulls us toward distraction, overthinking, anger, fear, desire and procrastination. So how do we actually control this restless mind? In Session 3 of our Bhagavad-gītā series we explore what Lord Krishna teaches Arjuna about the nature of the mind and how it can be brought under control Arjuna openly admits that the mind is restless, turbulent and extremely difficult to control. Krishna does not deny this difficulty. Instead, He provides a practical spiritual solution: Abhyāsa (practice) and Vairāgya (detachment) . But the Bhagavad-gītā goes even deeper. The goal is not simply to suppress the mind—it is to give the mind the right engagement and ultimately fix it upon Krishna. 🧠 In This Session, We Explore: • Why the mind can become either our friend or our enemy • Why controlling the mind through willpower alone is so difficult • The difference between the self, intelligence, mind and senses • How our senses constantly influence the mind • Why regulating what we see, hear and repeatedly think about matters • How Abhyāsa and Vairāgya help train the restless mind • How attachment to results affects our mental stability • How to remain balanced through success and failure • The influence of Sattva, Rajas and Tamas on our consciousness • Why the mind needs higher spiritual engagement • How Bhakti and Krishna consciousness offer a positive process for directing the mind 📖 Key Bhagavad-gītā Verses Discussed BG 2.47–48 — Action, attachment to results and equanimity BG 3.36–43 — Understanding desire and the hierarchy of senses, mind, intelligence and self BG 6.5–6 — The mind as friend or enemy BG 6.34–35 — The restless mind, Abhyāsa and Vairāgya BG 9.34 — Fixing the mind upon Krishna *BG 18.73*— Arjuna's transformation from illusion to clarity --- 🌿 The Central Question We spend so much of our lives trying to control circumstances, people and outcomes. But what happens when we cannot control our own mind? The Bhagavad-gītā teaches us that genuine mind management begins with understanding *who we really are*, regulating the senses, strengthening intelligence, performing our duties without unhealthy attachment and gradually directing our consciousness toward Krishna. The question therefore changes from: "How do I stop my mind from thinking?" to: "What should I engage my mind in?" And this is where the teachings of Bhagavad-gītā As It Is take us beyond ordinary mind management toward *Krishna consciousness and Bhakti-yoga*. 🙏 Hare Krishna If you find this session useful, please Like, Share and Subscribe for more sessions exploring the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad-gītā. #BhagavadGita #MindManagement #MindControl #BhagavadGitaAsItIs #Krishna #Arjuna #KrishnaConsciousness #BhaktiYoga #ISKCON #Spirituality #Mindset #SelfControl #HareKrishna
