🍖 Amma Style Mutton Curry 🍛❤️ Traditional homemade mutton curry made with love! 😍✨ A rich, flavourful, spicy mutton curry just like Amma makes at home! ❤️ Perfect with hot rice, biryani, chapati, or dosa. 🛒 Ingredients • 750 g mutton, washed thoroughly • 6 tbsp oil (3 tbsp for the masala and 3 tbsp for cooking the mutton) • 3 medium-sized onions, chopped • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped • 2 green chillies • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste • 3 tsp chilli powder • 1 tsp coriander powder • ½ tsp cumin (jeera) powder • ½ tsp turmeric powder • 1 tbsp garam masala powder • Salt to taste • 6 cashew nuts • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut powder • 1 tsp poppy seeds • Curry leaves • Fresh coriander leaves • Fresh mint leaves • Hot water as required 👩🏻‍🍳 Preparation Method Step 1: Prepare the masala paste 1. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker. 2. Add chopped onions, tomatoes, curry leaves, and some coriander leaves. Sauté for a few minutes. 3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears. 4. Add cashew nuts, desiccated coconut powder, and poppy seeds. Fry until everything is well cooked. 5. Allow the mixture to cool completely and blend into a smooth paste. Step 2: Cook the mutton 6. In the same cooker, heat the remaining 3 tbsp oil. 7. Add green chillies and sauté for about 30 seconds. 8. Add the mutton and cook on a low-to-medium flame for 15–20 minutes, allowing the moisture to release and the mutton to cook in its own juices. Step 3: Add the spices 9. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. 10. Mix everything well so the spices coat the mutton evenly. Step 4: Add the masala paste 11. Add the prepared onion-tomato masala paste. 12. Pour in the required quantity of hot water and mix well. 13. Taste and adjust the salt and chilli powder according to your preference. Step 5: Pressure cook 14. Close the pressure cooker and cook for approximately 5–6 whistles, adjusting for your cooker and the size of the mutton pieces. 15. Allow the pressure to release naturally. Check that the mutton is completely tender; cook for a little longer if needed. 16. Finish with freshly chopped coriander and mint leaves. ❤️ Amma’s Special Mutton Curry Is Ready! Serve hot and enjoy this delicious, aromatic homemade mutton curry with your favourite accompaniment. 😍🍛 The secret ingredient? Amma’s love! ❤️👩🏻‍🍳
